How do you distinguish uncivilized people from civilized people?

------------------------

In the West we consider ourselves civilized. We see ourselves as a highly developed society and culture (Wikipedia) and, for ourselves, have high moral values that other people do not have or only partially have.

That sounds good and makes Europeans look down on people who, for example, live in the middle of the Amazon jungle or in a village in India without electricity or water in the house. These people are then labeled uncivilized.

In terms of ethics, one can see how little such a judgment has to be true. I'm thinking of the time of the Second World War. Where in Europe people were treated like animals. Or the war in Ukraine, which makes you doubt how much more moral our society has become.

In contrast to the lives of people in the Amazon, as highly developed people we are able to have our livelihoods severely affected by climate change.

----------------------------------

Uncivilized means without human rights. In this respect, we are currently experiencing this with regard to the attack on Ukraine. Not only are those who carry out these crimes uncivilized - see war crimes - but also those who command the operations.

------------------------

There isn't. There are just different cultures.

------------------------

The word “civilized” or “civilization” originally comes from the Latin word “Civis” or “Civitas,” which means “citizen” or “citizenship.” Accordingly, the adjective “civilized” would apply to someone who behaves “civilly” or “belonging to a citizenry.” “Uncivilized” means the opposite.

------------------------

By uncivilized you mean that the corresponding people in Djungles or remote places in the world and live there with what nature & Earth gives them someone who is clear about the technology & Innovation of the 21st century has been spared.

------------------------

These are civilizations too.

------------------------

Then I worded it wrong, let's say innovation
